Single pass activated carbon filters:

The Application
Villiger single pass activated carbon filters are used in many different applications. Activated carbon filtering has found broad acceptance, especially for easily adsorbed chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons (BTEX), as the classic standard process for treating soil vapours and off-gases from stripping units. In particular this process is popular for low and medium concentrations where it can be assumed that the filter capacity will not be exhausted quickly.
For the adsorption of inorganic chemicals such as mercaptanes, a wide range of impregnated carbon is available. These are used when a mixture of organic and inorganic pollutants are present together. We will be pleased to advise you on your selection of an appropriate carbon.

Types of Filter Flow sheets
Different types of filter are available for different applications - drum, vessel and container. Sizes vary from small, laboratory scale filter to 40-ft industrial container filters that can be filled with up to 30 000 litres of activated carbon. Air flows of up to 50 000 Nm3/h can be treated efficiently.

The filters are fitted as standard with a grid near the bottom to catch the formed carbon pellets as well as inlets and outlets. Sample points as well as connections for pressure measurement and additional openings for changing the carbon can be integrated as options.
