Regenerative oxidation:

The Application
Regenerative catalytic and regenerative thermal oxidation stand out at treating gas streams with low to middle concentrations due to their extremely low operational costs.

Regenerative systems are used in treating, amongst others, gases from:
  • Drying processes
  • Painting / Spraying lines
  • Chemical production processes
  • Coating units
  • Food industry
  • Soil remediation
The main advantages of regenerative oxidation systems are:
  • Low investment costs
  • Low operational costs
  • Robust construction
  • Safe compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Long life-times
Due to European guidelines on keeping off-gases clean, even flows with low concentrations should also be treated. The use of energy-saving processes like regenerative oxidation becomes even more important.

Our engineers will provide the right solution for your application.

Process principle Flow sheet
The air to be treated is sucked into the unit using the process blower and heated to reaction temperature by either a gas burner or electrical heater. The reaction to carbon dioxide and water occurs in a combined reactor/heat storage bed. The heat from this bed is then guided over a second bed, where it is stored. After this bed has heated, the flow is switched. The heat from this bed is used to pre-heat the gas, which is then oxidised in the first bed. Further operation switches cyclically between these operating modes.
